✨ Guys, I have been sick as a dog for over a week and haven’t really done much new art. I shared this little Aziraphale expression study over on Pa🌳on a couple weeks back, so I figure now’s a good time to share it. While it started with me trying to re-train my hand to draw Az’s face (it spontaneously forgot?? The heck??)…I ended up having so much fun with all of these faces…lil pookie is just so cute! (Plus, the last slide is such a mood 😆)

I did a much better job of keeping to the 15 minute time limit. highly recommend if you need a warm-up before jumping into a a proper piece or if your brain feels a bit locked up trying to draw. i think nezha is a real turning point for me. since maybe forever, as someone from south east asia, the media i've consumed is all in english, and mostly western. the biggest and longest fandoms i've been in are arcane and spider-verse-- which i look up to them the most in terms of animation and storytelling, but now i've dived into a new world. i feel like nezha 2 is so well rounded and yet still grounded, in terms of the audience it reaches. it's stays true to its culture and they're passionate in sharing it; you can feel in throughout the entire movie, the music, the character designs, the backgrounds, and the very essence of the story which is based on Chinese mythology. a story about Chinese mythology somehow became so touching to so many hearts, it was about family and identity-- something we can universally relate to on a deep level, and i love that so much. and since it contains China's culture which transcends time, nezha 2 attracts audiences of all ages-- not just the younger generations like how we perceive the animation genre to be nowadays. i never watched a movie that made me laugh so much until my sides hurt and cry so much until my eyes became sore.

i'm an aspiring storyteller and animator, and i'm currently studying animation at art college :D one day, i'd like to tell a story as heartfelt, touching and meaningful as the nezha movies can be. thank you to all the amazing people who worked on the movie🧎‍➡️🧎‍➡️🧎‍➡️🧎‍➡️ one day, i want to sort of give back this same feeling the everyone when immersing themselves into a story! ok thanks for reading and good day!!!
